BYU–Hawaii is pleased to announce a change in the Parental Leave Policy. Beginning January 1, 2023, full-time administrative and staff employees will receive six weeks of paid parental leave for the birth of the employee’s child or for placement of a child with the employee for adoption. Full-time CFS faculty will receive paid parental leave for one semester. Faculty members should notify their dean and Yifen Beus as soon as feasible to coordinate coverage.
For all employees, parental leave must be taken and completed within 12 months of the birth or placement for adoption. For staff and administrative employees, parental leave is in addition to medical maternity leave, and an employee who qualifies for both may take a total of 12 weeks’ leave.
