BYU–Hawaii Special Needs Council

1. PURPOSE

2. POLICY

The purpose of the Special Needs Council is to oversee pertinent policies and procedures for students with special needs through analysis of current laws and legal mandates that outlines services, jobs, and housing for individuals with special needs living and working at BYU–Hawaii. They review policies and procedures and make recommendations as to any changes or updates needed through proactive institutional planning and provide leadership as the BYU–Hawaii Ohana moves forward in accommodating the special needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

3. IMPLEMENTATION

“Reasonable and appropriate accommodations” means modifying or adjusting expected tasks and processes to enable a qualified individual with a special need to be successful on the BYUH Campus.
